McLaren Elva

Open roadster

The McLaren Elva is the first open-cockpit hypersport car in the Ultimate Series to be allowed on the open road. A new dimension in the category of street-legal cars has truly been brought to life. Thanks to the ingenious Active Air Management System (AAMS), no amount of wind will wipe the broad grin from your face while you dash from 0 to 100 km/h in less than three seconds without a roof, side windows or windscreen. The AAMS, a world-first in wind protection, means you will never need to gasp for breath. Nevertheless, this two-seater is breath-taking. It has the lowest weight of all McLaren Automotive streetcars. Together with the 4.0-litre twin turbo V8, that we already know from the Senna and the Senna GTR, this provides extraordinary acceleration capacity and excellent manoeuvrability. It is therefore just as well that this super car is equipped with the most advanced braking system ever featured in a McLaren streetcar. Aesthetically, the Elva is sensational as well. The smooth transition from the interior to the exterior make the car, the driver and the elements blend together in perfect unity. The body is made of lightweight carbon fibre, so that its complex sculpted forms - in some places only 1.2 mm thick - are remarkably firm and strong. Nothing but superlatives can describe this car and make it legendary enough to carry the name Elva, after the Elva M1A that was designed by Bruce McLaren in the 1960s. However... befitting for the Ultimate Series, this is a limited edition. With only 399 cars available, the question is not how fast this car is, but how fast you are.
